Last week, our team proudly represented the Springfield Boys & Girls Club at the Massachusetts State House in Boston for Massachusetts Boys & Girls Club Advocacy Day.

This important statewide event brings together Boys & Girls Clubs from across Massachusetts to meet with legislators, share success stories, and highlight the impact of youth development programs. Advocacy Day ensures that decision-makers understand how critical these programs are in helping young people succeed—in school, in their careers, and in life.

Why Advocacy Day Matters
Advocacy Day gives Clubs the opportunity to speak directly with elected officials about the needs of local youth and the importance of continued support for out-of-school programs.
Connecting with State Leaders
During our visit, we were grateful for the opportunity to meet with Senator Adam Gomez Sr. and his team. We appreciated the time they took to learn more about the work happening at our Club and their commitment to supporting youth in Springfield.
We also want to thank the staff of Representative Angelo Puppolo Jr. for joining us at lunch and for their ongoing support of programs that benefit local families.
A special thank you to Jenn Aldworth and the Massachusetts Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs for organizing such a meaningful and impactful day. Their leadership helps bring Clubs together and strengthens our shared mission across the Commonwealth.

Supporting Youth in Springfield
Events like Advocacy Day play a vital role in ensuring that youth-serving organizations are seen, heard, and supported. They help build stronger partnerships between community organizations and policymakers—leading to more opportunities for young people.
At the Springfield Boys & Girls Club, we remain committed to advocating for the resources and support our members need to thrive.
Because the truth is simple:
Springfield needs strong opportunities for kids.
And Club kids need all of us.
