At the Springfield Boys & Girls Club, we are proud to shine a light on one of our most heartfelt partnerships—The Neil G. Daboul Fund—and on the extraordinary life and spirit of the man behind it.

Neil and his brother Peter were proud Club kids who grew up just down the road. They spent their summers at our Brimfield camp and their school-year afternoons in the Clubhouse, where Neil’s vibrant personality quickly made him a friend to everyone. It was here that Neil built lifelong friendships, found his footing, and became part of a community that remained close to his heart for the rest of his life.

Neil lit up every room he entered—with warmth, laughter, and a sincere love for people. He had a remarkable habit of putting others first, whether they were family, friends, or strangers in need. Helping others wasn’t something Neil did out of obligation—it was simply who he was. He gave generously of his time, energy, and resources: offering donations, finding someone a job, caring for the sick, lending money without expecting repayment, or showing up to do the hard physical work himself.

That selflessness was deeply rooted in the values passed down by his parents. Born during the Great Depression, Neil grew up in a home where his parents worked hard, never took assistance, and always helped others—no matter how little they had. They led by example, offering what they could financially and staying personally involved in their community, church, and family, including relatives back in Lebanon. Neil carried those lessons with him throughout his life.

The legacy of giving has continued through the Neil G. Daboul Fund, established in his memory to support the next generation of Club kids. The connection came full circle when his children became Club members too—showing how deeply the Club is woven into the fabric of their family. Both his son Vinnie and brother Peter were prominent board members of the Club and still advocates and supporters of the mission.

Thanks to the generosity of the Daboul family and those who contribute to the Fund, we are able to provide transformative opportunities for local youth—offering academic support, enrichment programs, and a safe space to grow into confident, caring, and resilient young people.

Neil’s legacy is a powerful reminder of the difference one life can make. We are deeply grateful for the continued support of the Neil G. Daboul Fund, and for all who believe in our mission and invest in brighter futures.
