President’s Day SBGC Closed

The Springfield Boys & Girls Club will be closed in honor of Presidents Day

The original version of the holiday was in commemoration of George Washington’s birthday in 1796. By the early 19th century it had become a bonafide national holiday.

In the 1980’s many advertising campaigns for company sales started popularizing the term President’s Day.
