Martin Luther King Day

We will be closed today for Martin Luther King Day. 

This Annual Federal American Holiday celebrates the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr and celebrates the life and achievements of this influential American civil rights leader. Soon after King’s assassination Representative John Conyers and Senator Edward Brooke introduced a bill in Congress to make King’s birthday a national holiday. 

Martin Luther King Jr. was a Baptist minister and scholar. He was a social activist and led the civil rights movement against racial segregation during the 1960s. Dr. King fought for equality and human rights for black people. He is also known for his speech. “I have a dream” which he delivered during the March in Washington in it he said:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal.”
