April Fool’s Day
Some historians think April Fool’s Day dates back to 1582! This is when France switched from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar. In the Julian calendar, the new year starts on the 1st of April with the Spring Equinox. However, the knowledge of this change did not get spread around enough and people were still celebrating on April 1st and they became the butt of jokes and hoaxes that came to be known as April’s Fools.
